Happy Tuesday Wednesday!
I don’t believe in hacks,
but I do believe in habits. What’s the difference? Hacks are shortcuts that promise quick results; habits are simple, pleasurable practices that help spark inspiration when you’re feeling stuck—in writing, running, and life.
Each of us already possesses innate and original creativity. It’s in us, just as it’s all around us, in the world. Just like the ancient Zen masters believed: We are all already enlightened.
Fantastic, right?!
But sometimes we need a little help getting started.
When I can’t think of how to begin, or what to write, I mine material from my dreams. You don’t have to make any special effort to invent your dreams. They invent themselves: They are the material handed to us each morning, utterly free and original, stories our unconscious tells us while we sleep.
