Hi + happy Tuesday Wednesday, today’s special subscriber post is about mining our dreams for material. Dreaming is cheap inspiration. It’s like going to the movies while you sleep and waking up feeling like you were plunked down in an alternate reality + trying—but not that hard—to make sense of it.
Dreams are instructive to us as artists + writers because not only are they weird but they also show us how to jump time without warning + to trust our readers and audience to follow narrative leaps. One minute it’s winter and you’re on an island covered in snow throwing a rager that your parents don't know about and the next you’re late for your flight to Paris.
